As we all know, OnePlus is the first device to test the Android latest operating system beta versions. Since OnePlus always uses the latest processor which are available in the market every year. Now, there is a recent announcement from Google regarding Android Q beta 3 version at io2019. So, as like every year OnePlus 6 & 6T smartphones are eligible to enroll the Android Q developer preview. Also, these updates will roll out for OnePlus 7 series too in a week after the launch.

OnePlus states that “we have been working closely with Google to give OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 users early access to Android Q developer preview.” Also, due to beta version may be some features may not work at early stage. Later on, with the help of OnePlus community bugs, issues are reduced finally. The some of known issues are already claimed below,

  1. Camera, portrait mode does not work
  2. Ambient Display is not working
  3. System stability issues
  4. Encryption will change in the next preview build
  5. Some apps may not function as expected when running on this Developer preview release

How to Download Android Q Beta

Before starting the procedure to download Android Q first of all backup your device fully. Because all data stored in device memory will be deleted after upgrade.

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from below link.
2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
5. Phone will boot into recovery mode to format user data, it will reboot again after formatting.
6. Update successful. ​

How to get back to Android Pie from Android Q

1. Download the stable Android Pie zip package from below link.
2. Copy the Rollback package to the phone storage.

4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
