Samsung Galaxy A42 Specifications

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will feature a large 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch that houses the front selfie camera. It should be an FHD+ panel similar to other mid-range Galaxy smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is expected to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor as it is nowhere visible in the images.

The Galaxy A42 5G was reportedly spotted on the Geekbench database last month, potentially revealing some specs of the device. It’s possible that the handset will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor which integrated with 5G, quipped with Adreno 619 GPU,  which further paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Samsung will confirm its full specs closer to launch.

The Galaxy A42 5G features a quad-camera setup at the back that includes a 48-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel macro, and 5-megapixel depth sensor. A 20-megapixel selfie camera is also present. Many of Samsung’s camera modes will likely be present, including but not limited to Pro Mode, Live Focus, Food Mode, Panorama, and HDR. There may also be support for slow motion, super slow motion, and hyper-lapse videos.

For power on the device feature a 5,000mAh battery. Support for 5G will obviously be the biggest draw. The battery is certainly big enough to handle the additional power draw that the next-gen network standard demands. It should also provide decent longevity should 5G be shunned in favor of LTE.

The Galaxy A42 5G will most definitely come with Android 10 out of the box in addition to One UI 2.5. This means that some of Samsung’s new features like Quick Share and Music Share will be present on the device.
