Redmi now officially announed the list of VOWIFI supported Redmi mobile phones list. The VOWIFI option will be available from MIUI 11.0.6.0 recent OTA update. Recently, Airtel & Jio launched the new feature called VOWIFI, it’s a new technology for speaking calls through Wi-Fi. 
Therefore, hereafter you can speak calls through Wi-Fi connectivity if network goes offline. However, so far, Airtel & JIO are only brings this feature also, it’s not activated in all areas. So, check with your operators for the availability in your area. Similarly, mobile phones also, need to be supported to activate the VOWIFI calling.

Above mobiles, will be now officially supported with VOWIFI calling through WiFi. Also, confirm with your network provider whether your networks like Airtel & JIO is supports in your area or not. Because, to make calling via WiFi both mobile & network operator need to be supported. Also, the opposite calling person also, need to get supported otherwise, you’re not get connected into call via WiFi instead it connected with your 4G VoLTE network. Similarly, the call via the Wi-Fi network will be connected automatically if VOWIFI is available. 

How to Activate VOWIFI in Redmi phones

 

  • Firstly, confirm you phone is whether updated to MIUI 11.0.60.0 
  • After that, Go to settings 
  • Now go to SIM card & Network and select your supported network
  • Find for the option “Make calls using Wi-Fi”
  • Just top ON the toggle option
  • That’s it.
However, the Wi-Fi calling will be automatically connected through VOWIFI connection if available on both dialler & receiver side. Else, the call will be connected via 4G VoLTE network.
