WhatsApp Upcoming features for Android users, protect backup in Google drive
WhatsApp upcoming updates will feature with a new Protect Backup feature using these WhatsApp users can protect their backups available on the Google drive. Currently, WhatsApp working on this feature is still on the Alpha stage development. But these features will be soon available for everyone, however, WhatsApp recently officially released the Dark mode feature to all stable Android WhatsApp users.

WhatsApp Protect Backup Feature

As we all know that, WhatsApp will feature with end-to-end encryption for all WhatsApp chat messages but, for WhatsApp backups available in Google drive is not encrypted. Similarly, earlier WhatsApp & Google made an announcement that, WhatsApp backup file stored in the Google drive will not be added into the Google Drive storage. That means the total memory of WhatsApp backup file is not included with the Google Drive storage quota. This is a good thing, but some users feel that WhatsApp might allow Google to read the WhatsApp backup’s available in the Google Drive storage but it’s not real.  To overcome this issue WhatsApp brings a new features called “Protect Backup“.

The WhatsApp Protect backup feature option will be available directly on the Chat Backup settings. As per the source, the Protect backup feature will be encrypted with a password to secure the WhatsApp backup file. Once, you enabled the protect backup feature, thereafter users need to put the password each time on restoring the WhatsApp backup. Also, WhatsApp will not help for a forgotten password so, you’ve had to remember the protect backup password if in-case you’ve forgotten means you can’t able to restore the backup and likewise there is no option to recover the forgotten password.
As I already said, the WhatsApp Protect backup feature is currently in the Alpha stage and WhatsApp is currently working on this feature. Likewise, it still not received for even beta users so, once I got more details regarding this feature I’ll update. Meanwhile, if you guys want to know more about WhatsApp read below archive.

For instance, if a mobile changed to Battery saver mode then, WhatsApp automatically switches to Dark theme and after switching back to normal mode in system, again WhatsApp goes back with Light theme. However, the old system default option has been removed for unsupported Android versions like Android 9 & lower versions. Similarly, for Android 10 version supported with dark mode feature on default will works as system default in WhatsApp.

Currently, WhatsApp more secure by allowing the usage of WhatsApp account on a single device. It has been protected with OTP authorization for each time log in to new devices.

After logging in to the device if the user tries to log in their account on other devices still, WhatsApp asks for OTP from the registered mobile number. • The same WhatsApp account also on iOS and Android devices (or on devices having the same OS).

Is WhatsApp continue the End-to-End encryption

& Privacy control?

Similarly, WhatsApp has the End-to-End encryption for each chat, group messages, voice messages & calls between the two users. Therefore, their conversation nobody can able to read even though WhatsApp.

Now the question is will WhatsApp continue their End-to-End encryption & Privacy control after the adoption of the new system. The informer is also confirmed about this that WhatsApp will be continuing their privacy control as usual.

But we thought some new privacy control will be adopted for the multi-platform system. Since because of stronger control of single device usage will give much protection for users for their privacy.

If multiple devices will be enabled on the other side there will be a chance of privacy out of control. So we believe WhatsApp will bring stronger privacy control if the new system is implemented.

In the same way, we thought it can be done as like two-step verification method. First of all, WhatsApp needs to differentiate the primary & secondary device.

The primary device is the default account where the user verified the device for the first time. The secondary device which is logged in other devices after the primary device needs to ask for device verification for a certain period. Let’s see what happens and what you guys think about this new announcement. Also, share your thoughts below in the comments section.

When a participant selects the ‘Everyone’ option will allow to join a group at any time. And the last option ‘No body’ will not allowed any user to join in any group at any time.

WhatsApp Group Invitation feature

For participants enabled with ‘Nobody’ option, WhatsApp will suggest to invite them to join the group by sending the private message in WhatsApp Group Invite format.

It’s like sharing the group link but the Group Invite get expired in three days. If the participants have to wish to join the group means, can join the group within that period. Or else, the user has to wait for another invitation or any other sources to join in that group.

WhatsApp has implemented many features and these is one of the best in WhatsApp Groups. So, using this feature users can escape from joining in unwanted groups using “Group Privacy Setting”. Then what you guys think about this feature let me know in the comments below,
